Re: What did you do to prep this week?

Took delivery of 6 more cases of Mtn House canned foods. Ordered 2 more grab and go buckets of freeze dried food. Reorganized root cellar and rotated items. Had new shoes put on my horses. Filled more gas cans. Oh yes, found my hammock and tried it out. :innocent:

Re: Better stock up on ammo while you can!

My first thought was not stocking up on ammo. My first thought was doing something to keep this from happening. If you cherish your right to be armed, joining the NRA and GOA is what I would consider "taking the easy way" when fighting to preserve them. You also must contact your legislat...

Re: Looking for other Preppers in the Local Area

I would be interested, depending on location. We're leaving for a camping trip on Sept 2nd. So my week will be a full one with getting things ready. Where did you have in mind. And, will the wives be there?

Re: What did you do to prep this week?

I realize some might not even consider what we're doing as prepping. But the wife and I do. We spent the day at Mammoth Cave National Park trail riding our horses. We're working on getting them AND US in shape so, if needed, we could ride all day and cover some distance. Also, we're checking out som...

Re: Looking for other Preppers in the Local Area

Thanks for the address doc. We'll try to make one of the meetups in the future. We've been spending a lot of time on the trails with our horses lately and that keeps us fairly busy. But, God willing, we'll make a good effort to attend in the near future.

Re: Looking for other Preppers in the Local Area

Does anyone have a street address for Barnes & Nobles? We've never been there. But if we could get a street address I could put it into our GPS and find it.

Re: Looking for other Preppers in the Local Area

Not that far from us! We live just outside of Hardyville. We've got two properties in Hart County. We live on 15 1/2 acres about 4 miles east of Hardyville. And we own 23 acres with a large barn about 3 miles east of Hardyville. We'll have to get together and get to know each other for sure. If TSHF...

Re: Fall 2010 Campout.... Oct, 1-3, Maple Springs, Mammoth Cave

Google .... Mammoth Cave National Park Then check out the trails and it will give you an option to see maps. Pull up the maps of the trails and print them off. I'll try to have some extras when we have the campout. I try to always carry one in my saddlebags on my horse just in case I make a wrong tu...

Re: Looking for other Preppers in the Local Area

Since we live in the area of Munfordville..... (Hart Co), we'd be interested in meeting with any of our fellow preppers that have BOL located in the area. Even if we're not qualified to be a part of the group, we could develope friendships and get to know one another. That would allow us to be a hel...

Re: Fall 2010 Campout.... Oct, 1-3, Maple Springs, Mammoth Cave

The wife and I rode our horses on the trails close to Maple Springs yesterday and checked out some good options for any hikers in the group. We also investigated one of the primitive backwoods campsites that would be a good place for any hikers to go visit and consider for future BO experiments. I'l...

Re: What did you do to prep this week?

The wife and I took a couple of our horses to the Maple Springs Campground (the one scheduled for the Oct campout) and rode the trails there today. Put in approx 20 miles of riding on the trails. Some of them over fairly rough terrain. Wanted to test out a new horse I just acquired a couple of weeks...

Re: What did you do to prep this week?

Experimented with a couple of our horses yesterday. Rode around 15 miles and took our time, even stopped to rest twice. More for us than the horses. Wanted to see just how long it might take us to cover approx 15 miles of rough terrain, up and down hills, crossing creeks, over downed trees, ...
